Elgar Corporation Appoints New CFO.

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 17, 2002

Elgar Electronics Corporation, a leading global supplier of programmable power supplies, today announced the appointment of John P. Mei as Vice President Finance and CFO See Chief Financial Officer. .

Elgar will benefit greatly from John's public accounting and broad manufacturing experience as we improve our systems and grow our business.

Most recently Mr. Mei was Group Controller for Acterna's $150M Multi Media Group. Prior to Acterna, he was Finance Manager for GE's $160M Industrial Systems Group. Mr. Mei began his career in public accounting with Coopers and Lybrand's audit practice.

Mr. Mei is a CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000.  and holds a BS as well as a Masters Degree in Accounting from University of Massachusetts The system includes UMass Amherst, UMass Boston, UMass Dartmouth (affiliated with Cape Cod Community College), UMass Lowell, and the UMass Medical School. It also has an online school called UMassOnline. .
