Elgar Corp. Appoints New CEO.

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 22, 2002

Elgar Electronics Corp., the world leader in programmable power supplies, today announced the appointment of Joseph A. Budano as president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. .

Kenneth Kilpatrick, who has led the company since 1991, will be assuming the position of vice chairman of the Board.

Prior to joining Elgar Budano spent seven years at Acterna, a leading global supplier of communications test instruments and systems. Most recently Budano was group president of Acterna's Multi-Media Group. Previously he ran Wavetek's Cable Networks, Digital Broadcast, Data Networks and LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area.
