Elephant and Castle Group opens at new Vancouver airport terminal.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 26, 1996--In an agreement with Cara Operations Limited, Elephant & Castle Group Inc. (NASDAQ: PUBSF, PACIFIC:PUB) of Vancouver, BC has opened a restaurant-pub on the arrivals level of the new terminal building at Vancouver International Airport.

The airport program is the first-ever franchised use of the company's brand, and with Cara's positioning in 11 major airports, E&C President and CEO Jeffrey Barnett said there is great potential for more growth in this exciting transportation arena. Cara's annual sales top $1.2 billion.

While waiting for arriving international passengers, patrons will be able to enjoy traditional E&C fare, along with a range of beverages. In a completely open format, the seating is arranged in two levels. The furnishings are in traditional Tudor style and with all E&C locations, there is a British-style phone booth at the entrance.

Mr. Barnett said the company is delighted to be at YVR. "The airport, even at this very early stage, appears to be a hit," he said. "We look foreward to welcoming thousands of hungry, thirsty travellers and airport visitors."
