Elephant Software Announces Elephant Tracks "The Cure for Internesia".


MANCHESTER, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 23, 1998--Elephant Software, Inc. today announced Elephant Tracks 1.0, an innovative solution for Internet users who have difficulty re-finding web pages. "Internesia" is a contraction of "Internet amnesia amnesia (ămnē`zhə), [Gr.,=forgetfulness], condition characterized by loss of memory for long or short intervals of time. It may be caused by injury, shock, senility, severe illness, or mental disease. ", the problem of finding information again which has been previously located on the Internet. Elephant Tracks tightly integrates with an Internet Browser See Web browser.  to "remember" web pages that have been accessed in the past. Elephant Tracks uses the familiar search engine user interface and is conveniently accessed from the search button on the Internet Explorer Microsoft's Web browser, which comes with Windows starting with Windows 98. Commonly called "IE," versions for Mac and Unix are also available. Internet Explorer is the most widely used Web browser on the market. It has also been the browser engine in AOL's Internet access software.  toolbar A row or column of on-screen buttons used to activate functions in the application. Many toolbars are customizable, letting you add and delete buttons as required. Toolbars may be fixed in position or may float, which means they can be dragged to a more convenient location in the . A user simply clicks on the search button, types in a few key words, presses Enter, and a list of likely web pages is presented.
