Elekta to Deliver Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion to Cromwell Hospital in London, UK.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- Cromwell Hospital will be the first center in the UK to commission Leksell Gamma Knife(R) Perfexion(TM), Elekta's (STO:EKTAB) brand new system for stereotactic radiosurgery in the brain, cervical spine and head & neck regions. This top of the line system for non-invasive treatment of tumors and other brain disorders is designed for unlimited cranial reach and has been developed with a strong focus on ease of use and comfort for both patients and staff.

On July 31, 2006, Cromwell Hospital, London's premier independent hospital with over 500 specialists covering more than 70 specialties, confirmed the order to Elekta to install Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion later this year.

Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion was introduced to the neurosurgery and radiation oncology communities at the 13th International Leksell Gamma Knife Society Meeting, in Seoul, Korea on May 21-25 and the initial response has been overwhelmingly positive.

In early July, 2006, the first installation of Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion was carried out at Hopital de la Timone (University Hospital La Timone) in Marseille, France and on July 10, clinical treatments commenced with 10 patients successfully treated in the first week of operation.
