Electropure 9-Month Growth at 34% Over 2001.

Electropure Inc. (OTC BB:ELTP) today reported that its subsidiary, Electropure EDI Inc., had strong growth and record revenues for the nine-month period ended July 31, 2002.

Revenues for the first three quarters of FY2002, at nearly $1.1 million, are 34% higher than the same period in FY2001. Results are in line with management's estimates and confirm the growing opportunity for this technology. The company has an Oct. 31 year-end.

The company's growth is based on the expanding need worldwide for industrial ultrapure water, and the market's acceptance of the company's electrodeionization (EDI) technology.

Floyd Panning stated that, "Even during the current economic downturn, sales by our EDI subsidiary are growing at an increasing rate, requiring

us to expand production." The company has noted the effects of a slowdown in the power generation industry, caused by the cancellation of multiple power projects in California. However, it sees the pharmaceutical water market booming worldwide.

In July, Electropure announced that its Micro Imaging Technology subsidiary was granted a U.S. patent on a laser-based technology that will rapidly detect and identify harmful fluid and food-borne microbes. The company sees this new technology as a cost-effective, highly-accurate tool for testing food and water supplies that could well be a very timely means to help protect its resources and population.
