Electronic Technology Corporation Introduces EL Drivers.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 30, 1999--

Electronic Technology Corporation announces the introduction of a family of electroluminescent (EL) lamp drivers.

The ETC4823 and ETC4826 accept a wide range of input DC voltages and provide an alternating high voltage output suitable for driving an EL lamp. Electroluminescent lamps are commonly used for display backlighting in pagers, cell phones, PDAs, GPS terminals and other handheld and portable devices as well as in automotive applications.

The use of electroluminescent displays in portable and handheld equipment is increasing, and these drivers compliment our other power management solutions for those applications," said Bernard Brafman, ETC's Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

The devices consist of a boost converter with internal switching FET followed by an internal H-bridge that drives the alternating output to the lamp. Externally adjustable converter and lamp drive frequencies allow the optimization of power consumption, harmonics, lamp color, and lamp life. -0-
