Short versions of all the presentations were published in a book of abstracts, and 56 were selected and revised to appear in full here. The keynote address by Satoshi Honda (Keio U., Japan) explains a current-driven thermal method for inspecting the thickness of a pipe wall. The other papers cover modeling an inverse problem, transducers and techniques, applying electromagnetic nondestructive techniques, material characterization, and high-frequency techniques and others. Among specific topics discussed are semi-discrete time-domain sensitivity analysis for recognizing cracks, the numerical simulation of acousto-elastic effect in pre-stressed media, and testing artificial heart valves using electromagnetic methods.
