Electrohome, Texas Instruments sign production agreement.

KITCHENER, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 1996--Electrohome Limited, a leading manufacturer of high-resolution video/data/graphics projection systems, and Texas Instruments (TI) Incorporated (NYSE:TXN) Tuesday announced a production agreement whereby Electrohome will manufacture a line of high-brightness projection systems based on TI's Digital Light Processing(TM) (DLP(TM)) subsystem technology.

This is the first such agreement for the high-end professional display market.

Texas Instruments Digital Micromirror Device(TM) (DMD(TM)) microchip is a highly integrated semiconductor light switch that is at the heart of the company's Digital Light Processing (DLP) solutions for emerging projection display and on-demand, short-run color printing systems. Utilizing TI's three-chip DLP engine, Electrohome will develop a high-brightness product line for use in various venues.
