 Electroglas, the new position was established in response to its plans for facility expansions addressing the company's increase in global operations Global Operations is a first-person shooter computer game developed by Barking Dog Studios and published by both Crave Entertainment and Electronic Arts. It was released in March of 2002, following its public multiplayer beta version which contained only the Quebec map.  activities. Livingston, reporting to Armand Stegall, Electroglas chief financial officer, will be responsible for Electroglas' Information Technology (IT) group, which includes communications, networks and business systems.

Stegall commented on the significance of this new position as the company continues to optimize its information systems and prepare for its new headquarters in south San Jose South San Jose is a large geographic area in San Jose, California, USA. Livingston, who brings to Electroglas extensive experience in operations and all aspects of high-tech information management, is chartered with driving all IT initiatives. This includes IT strategy, enterprise-wide electronic messaging, local and wide area networks for domestic and international sites, applications development, end-user support, Internet services and Intranet deployment.

Most recently, Livingston served as vice president of information systems for Adaptec Corp. (Milpitas, Calif.) from 1994 to 1997. Livingston was responsible for global information services See Information Systems.  and technologies development and support. Prior to joining Adaptec, Livingston held the post of vice president of quality and customer services with Maxtor Corp. (San Jose, Calif.).

Before that, Livingston held various management positions within Apple Computer Inc. (Cupertino, Calif.) from 1983 through 1990, which included the management information systems (MIS) manager responsible for the worldwide manufacturing information systems and the start-up of the original Macintosh factory automation. His background also includes various operational roles with Texas Instruments (Dallas) from 1972 to 1983.
