Electric surgical drill.

The E9010 High Speed Drill by Linvatec Corporation provides otolaryngologists with a smooth start and stop, with up to 80,000 rpm in forward or reverse. The E9010 Drill includes both a straight and angled handpiece in one drill. A twist of the collet converts the drill from a straight to a 20-degree angle. There are more than 220 burs from which to choose, and the fluid-cooled motor permits use of the drill in long surgical procedures Surgical procedures have long and possibly daunting names. The meaning of many surgical procedure names can often be understood if the name is broken into parts. For example in splenectomy, "ectomy" is a suffix meaning the removal of a part of the body. "Splene-" means spleen. .

For additional flexibility, the E9000[TM] Console, used with the E9010 Drill, also accepts 19 other handpieces, including the E9005 High Speed Shaver for sinus surgery. It is lightweight, with variable suction suction /suc·tion/ (suk´shun) aspiration of gas or fluid by mechanical means.

An oscillation is one cycle, typically one complete wave in an alternating frequency.  and 10,000 rpm in forward and reverse, the High Speed Shaver provides resection and suction simultaneously, keeping the operative field Noun 1. operative field - the area that is open during surgery
