Electric mold carrier for large-area PUR parts.

A new electric mold mold, name for certain multicellular organisms of the various classes of the kingdom Fungi, characteristically having bodies composed of a cottony mycelium. The colors of molds are caused by the spores, which are borne on the mycelium.  carrier is said to be extremely robust with low-maintenance and dean, energy-efficient operation. Available from Krauss-Maffei Corp., Florence, Ky., its first main use is in backfoaming vehicle instrument panels. K-M K-M Krauss-Maffei (German locomotive manufacturer)  aims to expand its application to other large-area parts.

The mold carrier opens and doses via a high-speed belt drive. The drive shall acts as the constant-velocity shaft to ensure exactly parallel movements. Its simple design is reportedly insensitive in·sen·si·tive

to shock and vibration, and maintenance is said to be lower than for toothed-belt, chain, or circulating-spindle drives. The carrier frame can be tilted tilt 1

The two electric mold platens tilt steplessly--the top one from 0 to 90[degrees], and the bottom one from 0 to 45[degrees]. This mobility makes it easy for operators to insert blanks or skins in the molds. The mold carrier also has resolver drives with integrated position sensors A position sensor is any device that enables position measurement. It can either be an absolute position sensor or a relative one(displacement sensor). Position sensors can be either linear or angular. . The drives provide rapid movement and easy "teaching" of setups. Tel: (859) 283-0200 * www.Krauss-rnaffei.com
