), the premier technology provider of global online classified advertising and the leading supplier of personal relationship marketing through its Match.Com brand, today announced the recent appointment of Elliot Wassarman as president and chief executive officer. Wassarman previously served ECI in a consulting role as interim CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. .

He will also now serve as an ECI board director, along with the newly named ECI Board Director, Douglas Fox, an internationally recognized publishing industry expert.

Wassarman, who brings more than two decades of executive leadership and experience in the Internet, computer software and hardware and other emerging technologies, combined with Fox's contributions and reputation among the technology and publishing industries, will drive ECI's expansion in the $20 billion classified advertising market, an international market that is expected to grow at dramatic rates.

The appointments follow ECI's recent launch of its Global Online Classifieds software platform and its newly announced strategic partnerships with AOL's Digital City, CompuServe and Cox Interactive Media.

Fox, a 25-year veteran of the consumer products, media and communications industries, was formerly the president and chief operating officer of the Publishing and Video groups of Landmark Communications Inc., a private multimedia company in Norfolk, Virginia, where he was responsible for the company's record revenue growth and stock value increase.

Fox holds a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts and a Masters from Northwestern University, with majors in corporate finance, investment management, marketing, and a minor in quantitative methods.
