Electric City Announces Test Installations for City of Chicago Including O'Hare International Airport.

) announced today that it has recently begun testing the EnergySaver in a pilot project with the City of Chicago.

Five EnergySaver units were placed in the Sulzer library. During the first week of testing, a 40% reduction in kilowatt-hour usage was observed. Additional EnergySaver test units have also been installed in the parking facilities of O'Hare International Airport O'Hare International Airport is an airport located in Chicago, Illinois, United States, 17 miles (27 km) northwest of the Chicago Loop. In all, there are five locations in the City of Chicago that will undergo 2 months of testing. If the EnergySaver tests reduce the kilowatt hour usage at these sites by 20% or more, the City of Chicago plans to purchase EnergySaver units for many City owned properties. These facilities will include O'Hare Airport, City parking facilities, police stations, ambulance stations, fire departments, libraries, City streets and parks and other City locations.
