Elections and Endorsements.

Preparing for the Y2K See Y2K problem and Y2K compliant.

Y2K - Year 2000
 (batteries not included)

HERE THEY COME, folks, ready or not: the 2000 candidates. (Lo, it seems like 2,000.) From the presidential primaries to the general election this fall, covering the candidates is a monumental task. So we asked a few seasoned NCEW NCEW National Conference of Editorial Writers  members to offer advice on covering the race and interviewing candidates.

On the pages that follow are perspectives on how to brace for Y2K, the election version. Some NCEW members are already knee deep in election-year, uh, doo-doo. A few took their pens and shields to New Hampshire, where they followed presidential candidates for a week. That adventure was begun four years ago by John Nichols, editorial page editor for The Capital Times in Madison, Wis., and was recreated this year by Nichols and Neil Heinen, editorial director of WISC WISC Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children Psychology A 10-category test that measures both verbal and performance IQ. See Psychological testing.  in Madison. They didn't get back in time to write for this edition, but we're expecting a full report for the Summer Masthead mast·head
