Elder-Beerman will build the store in its concept store format in nearby Kohler, Wisconsin Kohler is a village in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, along the Sheboygan River. The population was 1,926 at the 2000 census. It is included in the Sheboygan, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area. in the new Deerfield Trace Shopping Center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. The modern shopping center differs from its antecedents—bazaars and marketplaces—in that the shops are usually amalgamated into adjacent to Interstate 43. The company anticipates opening the new store in the fall of 2001. It will be the state's fifth Elder-Beerman department store.
