Elcoteq Americas Strengthens Its Strategy Implementation and Appoints Mitchell Schoch New VP Sales and Marketing.

 industry, announced that Mitchell Schoch, former VP sales and account management for Solectron, has been appointed vice president sales & marketing, Elcoteq Americas. The appointment of Schoch to the Americas' management team is part of Elcoteq's focus on implementation of strategy to continue profitable growth, diversification of the company's customer base, and expansion of its service offering.

"Over the last three years, Elcoteq Americas' sales have increased from 2% to over 20% of total sales for the Elcoteq Group through organic growth, expansion of its geographical footprint, and acquisition," said Douglas Brenner, president, Elcoteq Americas. "During the coming years, profitable growth will require even greater focus and refinement of our service offering tied to implementing initiatives of our global strategy."

Elcoteq is the only EMS company that concentrates solely on serving communications technology OEMs. Its strategic focus on communications technology emphasizes terminal products such as mobile phones, telematics, radio modules, and home communications (e.g., set top boxes), as well as infrastructure products that include integrated base station cabinets; modules and plug-in units for base stations and switching systems; and tower top amplifiers, routers, microwave systems, etc. Elcoteq provides design services in addition to its EMS offering that includes new product introduction, manufacturing, supply chain management, and after-sales services for the whole lifecycle of its customers' products.

The position of vice president sales & marketing, Elcoteq Americas, has been created to accelerate and meet the challenges of implementing the Americas' strategy. Mr. Schoch has a strong background in sales, marketing, and strategic development and extensive experience working in the EMS industry and high tech companies such as Solectron, Hitachi, and IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) .

Concurrent with this organizational change, Bill Coker has moved into the newly created position of director marketing and business development to focus on expansion of the service offering, especially in conjunction with strategic partnering and business development, including acquisitions.
