Elcoteq, Inc., the Americas Office of Elcoteq Network Corporation, one of the top ten electronics manufacturing services companies world-wide, today announced that its Monterrey, Mexico manufacturing plant has won the company's 2001 Quality Award.

The Monterrey plant, which serves Elcoteq's North American customers, was selected from among plants in Finland, Estonia, Russia, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Mexico and China.

The plants, which build electronics subassemblies and complete end products for customers including ADC, Allgon, Ericsson and Nokia, were assessed based upon measurable improvement in six areas: customer satisfaction; management practices and business performance; process management and performance; consistency implementation and improvement; implementation of Six Sigma (a management method used to optimize processes and minimize defects); and, employee training and competence.
