Elastomers.

Elastomers. Elastomer elastomer (ĭlăs`təmər), substance having to some extent the elastic properties of natural rubber. The term is sometimes used technically to distinguish synthetic rubbers and rubberlike plastics from natural rubber.  Cure Concepts, Volume X, is an 18-page, color technical booklet written for elastomer compounders. The publication is said to provide compounders with updated processing and performance data for the company's rubber additives and other specialty chemicals A Specialty chemical is a chemical produced for a specialized use. They are produced in lower volume than bulk chemicals, of which petrochemicals, made from oil feedstocks, are the most common. However, both are produced in a chemical plant. . Compounders can use the information to research and specify additives for use in their projects. Article topics in the booklet include high-hardness compounds with good properties and processability, specialty coagents, diene-based thermoplastic A polymer material that turns to liquid when heated and becomes solid when cooled. There are more than 40 types of thermoplastics, including acrylic, polypropylene, polycarbonate and polyethylene.  polyurethanes polyurethanes (pŏl'ēyr`əthānz), group of plastics that may be either thermosetting or thermoplastic. Polyurethane can be made into both flexible and rigid foams.  for promoting rubber adhesion, Saret HP technology and tailor-made polybutadienes. (Sartomer)
