Intergraph Utilities (Nasdaq:INGR) today announced that El Paso Electric (EPE) has purchased Intergraph's InService Mobile Data Dispatch solution to streamline and automate service order dispatching and collection work. EPE serves more than 300,000 customers in the Rio Grande Valley in west Texas and southern New Mexico.

The configured system for EPE will include dispatch seats and mobile applications using new thin-client technology, and will take orders from the company's SCT Banner(R) Customer Management System (CMS). Automated utility bill collection and account reconciliation are particular areas expected to yield high returns by eliminating the time and accuracy problems associated with manual record keeping. In addition, this project will lay the foundation for Outage Management, another key component of the InService Suite.

After an in-depth evaluation of leading workforce management vendors, EPE selected Intergraph's commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) InService solution on performance, overall value, and configuration flexibility. John Robinett, project manager for EPE, said, "The commercial off-the-shelf nature of the InService software will allow us to implement a solution quickly and focus on return on investment sooner then originally expected."
