Eighth Day Sound Rocks Summer Tours with New Dolby Lake Processors.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) today announced that Eighth Day Sound Systems, Inc., one of the largest sound reinforcement companies in the US, has purchased 40 Dolby(R) Lake(R) Processors to boost its blockbuster concert tours this summer. Eighth Day Sound is using Dolby Lake Processors on many of the 2006 tours it is providing with sound systems, including those for Madonna, Widespread Panic, Tool, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Slayer, Tom Jones, and Earth, Wind & Fire.

Dolby Lake Processors, configured with four inputs and 12 outputs, are being used by front of house engineer Tim Colvard on Madonna's Confessions Tour to control the main L-Acoustics V-DOSC and dV-DOSC loudspeaker system. The system is set up and overseen nightly by veteran crew chief and system engineer Mark Brnich, Eighth Day Sound's Director of Support Services. Eighth Day Sound is using similar processor setups on additional tours this summer.

The new Dolby Lake Processor, first introduced at the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) 2006 Expo in March 2006, provides advanced control and flexibility of complex speaker systems throughout setup and during the event, improving the sound of the system so audiences have a better experience. The processor is easy to integrate into an audio system and the software interface is intuitive, enabling sound engineers to save time in the set up and handling. The four front-panel Portals provide an information snapshot so engineers need only glance at the display to check on the systems. The Dolby Lake Processor also includes unique Iso-Float(TM) ground isolation technology to help eliminate ground clipping.

Madonna's sell-out Confessions Tour 2006 kicked off in Los Angeles at the end of May and continues through the US, Canada, Europe, and Japan. The tour is scheduled for multiple nights at many of the world's major venues, including five shows at Madison Square Garden in New York, four performances at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in France, and eight concerts at London's Wembley Arena.

Widespread Panic's 2006 summer tour started June 13 in New York and runs through August, traveling throughout the US. Tool kicked off its summer 2006 tour in April at the Coachella Festival and will tour through August, hitting major US cities as well as most of Europe and Japan and Canada. Crosby Stills, Nash & Young will start its summer 2006 tour July 6 and will run through September traveling throughout the US and making two stops in Canada. Slayer's Unholy Alliance tour kicked off June 16 and will run through November 20 traveling throughout the US and Europe. Tom Jones opened his tour in March and runs through November 1 with shows throughout the US, and UK, with two nights in Ireland. Earth, Wind & Fire's tour schedule started in March and runs through September with shows throughout the US.
