Eight Annual International World Wide Web Conference To Be Held In Toronto May 11 - 14, 1999; A Conference Featuring Internationally Recognized Experts Will Discuss All Aspects Of The World Wide Web.

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 1998--The International World Wide Web Conference Committee (IW3C2) of Geneva Switzerland and Foretec Seminars of Reston, Va. have announced the dates for the Eight International World Wide Web Conference and Exposition. This premier event for leaders from academia, research organizations, government and industry offers delegates a chance to gain a global perspective of the issues facing the Web community. The conference will be held May 11 - 14, 1999, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, with the exposition open May 12 - 13.

"The conference will cover exciting topics at the forefront of new Web technologies presented by internationally recognized experts," said Program Chair Alberto Mendelzon, Professor, University of Toronto. There will be refereed paper sessions, poster and panel sessions, keynote and invited speakers, an industrial track, tutorials, workshops, and a developer's day. The activities of the World Wide Web Consortium, the official body that guides the technical development and the specifications for the Web, will be presented in a special W3C Track. The program of half and full-day tutorials and workshops, given by authorities in the field, will include current topics and issues such as the design of Web sites, multimedia interfaces, Web GUIs, security, authentication and Web protocols. The developer's day will be devoted to the interests of Web developers, providing in-depth technical discussions.
