Egypt: Shell Global Invest U.S. $600 Million in Nation.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Badr-el-Din Company Dr. Sharif Soussa said in a statement to "Al-Ahram" on Saturday 18/02/2012 that Shell Global Company will invest USD 600 million in operations of oil research and exploration in cooperation with Badr-el-Din Company.
Soussa pointed out that these investments will be directed to drill 55 new wells in addition to the development of already producing wells.
He added that Shell Global has informed the Ministry of Petroleum that it is paying special attention to invest in Egypt during the coming period, where the company plans to increase its investments in Egypt to be among the top 10 countries in the world in which Shell is investing, which reflects the company's confidence in the improvement of investment climate in Egypt as well as attractiveness of investment in the petroleum sector in Egypt.
