Egon Zehnder International Selected for Bristol-Myers Squibb CEO Search.

BOSTON -- Egon Zehnder International, one of the world's leading executive search firms, announced today it has been selected by Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY) to conduct a search for the pharmaceutical company's next chief executive officer. George Davis, U.S. Co-Managing Partner of Egon Zehnder, will lead a team to conduct the search.

The Bristol-Myers Squibb Board of Directors has appointed James Cornelius, a director of the company since January 2005 and chairman emeritus of Guidant Corporation, to act as interim chief executive officer. Cornelius, who does not wish to be considered a candidate in the search, replaces Peter R. Dolan, whose departure was announced last week.

The Bristol-Myers Squibb Board has appointed a search committee, led by its Chair, James D. Robinson III, to review internal and external candidates. The committee members include Robert E. Allen, Lewis B. Campbell, Vance D. Coffman, and Laurie H. Glimcher, M.D., who are all independent members of the Board of Directors. Egon Zehnder was selected to manage the search based on the firm's proven experience in recruiting successful business leaders and its understanding of the leadership requirements for Bristol-Myers Squibb as the company moves forward.
