Eggs gift is a treat for dogs.


DOGS at a Kenilworth Rehoming Centre were given an unusual donation to celebrate the beginning of ASDA's pet week.

The superstore in Walsgrave, Coventry, and Stonegate Farmers donated more than 1,400 eggs to feed each one of the 200 dogs an egg a day.

Sandra Wilson, the Dogs Trust The Dogs Trust, formerly known as the National Canine Defence League, is an animal welfare charity and humane society in the United Kingdom which specialises in the wellbeing of dogs. The charity provides kennels for dogs which are abandoned or given up by their owners.  rehoming centre manager, said she was delighted, adding: "The eggs being donated are a natural and nutritious food for our four legged friends."

She said eggs add protein and reduce the risk of retinal degeneration and cataracts, which cause blindness.
