Egghead announces July 1996 sales results.


SPOKANE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 12, 1996--Egghead Inc. (Nasdaq: EGGS) today reported sales results for the month of July 1996, which includes the period from June 30, 1996 through July 27, 1996.

These results do not include the discontinuance Cessation; ending; giving up. The discontinuance of a lawsuit, also known as a dismissal or a non-suit, is the voluntary or involuntary termination of an action.

For the eleven remodeled and expanded stores in existing markets, sales in July 1996 increased 34% over the same period of the previous year.

During the month, Egghead opened 2 stores and closed 2 stores. The ending number of stores in operation on July 27, 1996, was 159.
