Efforts to involve America for Kashmir settlement.


ISLAMABAD, July 01, 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- The United Nations Association of the United States of America The United Nations Association of the United States of America or UNA-USA was founded in 1943 by Eleanor Roosevelt as the American Association for the United Nations (AAUN) which was merged with the U.S. Committee for the United Nations in 1964.  (UNA-USA UNA-USA United Nations Association of the United States of America ) has said that it will encourage the US government to facilitate resolution of the Kashmir issue by engaging India, Pakistan and the people of Jammu & Kashmir in the resolution process. Hoping that the conflict in Kashmir will end with the recognition of the self-determination of Kashmiri people, the UNAUSA UNAUSA United Nations Association of the United States of America  resolution has called upon the parties concerned to utilize all United Nations mechanisms available to them for the peaceful resolution of the conflict. The resolution affirmed that every US president from Harry Truman to Barrack BARRACK. The resolution noted with appreciation that the US was the co-sponsor of UN Security Council Resolution 91 adopted on April 21, 1948 that gave the right of self-determination to the people of Kashmir. Governments of India and Pakistan were parties to the resolutions of the UN Commission for India and Pakistan that were adopted in 1948 and 1949 which recognized the Kashmiri peoples right to self determination, the resolution states. The resolution recognizes that, freedom and self-determination are basic principals of both the UN charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Universal Declaration of Human Rights
