Effective pomegranate extract must be standardized to punicosides--especially for cardiovascular & diabetic applications.

Pomegranate pomegranate (pŏm`grănĭt, pŏm`ə–), handsome deciduous and somewhat thorny large shrub or small tree (Punica granatum , a native plant of Northern Africa and the Caucasian Mountains, has been used extensively in the folk medicine folk medicine, methods of curing by means of healing objects, herbs, or animal parts; ceremony; conjuring, magic, or witchcraft; and other means apart from the formalized practice of medical science.  of many cultures. It was mentioned in the papyrus Ebers of Egypt written about 1550 B.C. The Babylonians regarded pomegranate as an agent of resurrection. In the Caucasus, the pomegranate was revered for its powers to promote longevity and immortality. Today, premium-priced pomegranate products are experiencing a new surge in popularity partly due to their perceived health benefits.

Pomegranate and Atherosclerosis

Consistent with its many traditional uses, scientific evidence suggests that pomegranate fruit is a potent inhibitor of atherosclerosis. Pomegranate intake appears to increase the activity of paraoxonase (PON (Passive Optical Network) An optical point-to-multipoint access network. There are no optical repeaters or other active devices in a PON, hence the name "passive. ) enzyme in patients with high cholesterol Cholesterol, High Definition

and diabetes. The ability of pomegranate to enhance PON activity stimulates HDL (Hardware Description Language) A language used to describe the functions of an electronic circuit for documentation, simulation or logic synthesis (or all three). Although many proprietary HDLs have been developed, Verilog and VHDL are the major standards.  and reduce the LDL LDL - ["LDL: A Logic-Based Data-Language", S. Standardization of Pomegranate Extract

The consensus of scientific research on pomegranate clearly requires, first, that multiple marker compounds are essential to produce an effective product. Second, the most critical of these, that must be included, are the punicalagins (punicosides A + B) and ellagic acids. However, the presence of the punicosides A + B is vital to ensure true quality and efficacy, because these unique compounds are unusually concentrated in pomegranate fruit.

Consequently, Polinat SL only produces pomegranate extract that is rigorously standardized to punicosides A + B, and ellagic acid (ellagitannins).

Other sources of pomegranate extract limit their standard to ellagic acid by itself. Single ellagic acid is not an acceptable standard for pomegranate, inadequate and potentially misleading. It is abundantly available in an inexpensive synthetic form. It is easy to add synthetic ellagic acid to inferior product to create the false appearance of quality without pomegranate's true efficacy.

Polinat SL pomegranate extract, standardized to punicosides A + B, and ellagic acid, provides a compelling alternative: the path of success through integrity. It guarantees a pomegranate extract that will deliver all its health benefits promised to your customers--and will continue to do so. In this spirit, we are proud to offer our unique, pharmacologically effective, full-spectrum pomegranate extract, standardized to punicosides A + B, and ellagic acid (total ellagitannins).
