Edwards Baking Company swept the winners' circle as it scooped two coveted pie awards at the prestigious National Pie Championships in Celebration, Florida today, during the Great American Pie Festival.
Turtle Pie, one of Edwards newest frozen desserts, took home the top award for the Open Cream Gourmet Category. With more than 200 entries in the competition, the judges deemed Edwards Turtle Pie one of the best gourmet pies in America. Not surprisingly, the buttery bits of caramel and creamy vanilla filling, topped with chocolate chunks, pecans, and chocolate syrup drizzle in a chocolate cookie crust, makes it hard for anyone to resist.
