Dr. Ron Rescigno, President of EduLink stated, "We are very pleased to introduce the first two members of the CQC Committee. They are Dr. Rodger W. Bybee, of the National Research Council, National Science Standards, and current Executive Director of Biological Sciences Curriculum Studies, Colorado Springs, Colorado The City of Colorado Springs is the second most populous city (after Denver) in the state of Colorado and the 48th most populous city in the United States.[4] The city is the county seat of El Paso County. ; and Professor Christopher L. Salter, one of the founders of the National Geographic Alliance movement, and currently Professor and Chair, and Director, Geographic Resources Center, Department of Geography, University of Missouri-Columbia."

Dr. Rescigno added, "These two gentlemen possess distinguished records of accomplishment both as educators and as designers of standards-based curriculum for their respective disciplines. As members of EduLink's Curriculum Quality Control Committee their presence will ensure that the material developed meets or exceeds national standards."

Rescigno concluded, "This committee will review curriculum content created by EduLink's content design teams and provide evaluations and recommendations to ensure that the educational material conforms to national standards. The first meeting of the committee is scheduled for June 27, 2000 in Los Angeles, California."

) in Colorado Springs, Colorado, a non-profit organization that develops curriculum materials and provides professional development for the science-education community.

Prior to joining BSCS, Bybee was executive director of the National Research Council's Center for Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Education (CSMEE CSMEE Clearinghouse for Science Mathematics and Environmental Education ), in Washington, D.C. Between 1992 and 1995, Bybee was associate director of the BSCS at the Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

During that time Bybee participated in the development of the National Science Education Standards The National Science Education Standards (NSES) are a set of guidelines for the science education in primary and secondary schools in the United States, as established by the National Research Council in 1996. , and in 1993-1995 he chaired the content working group of that National Research Council project. At BSCS, he was principal investigator for new National Science Foundation (NSF NSF - National Science Foundation ) programs on the elementary school, middle school, high school and college levels.

Bybee's work at BSCS also included serving as principal investigator for programs to develop curriculum frameworks for teaching about the history and nature of science and technology for biology education at high schools, community colleges, and four-year colleges, and curriculum reform based on national standards.

Dr. Bybee received his Ph.D. in Science Education and Psychology from New York University New York University, mainly in New York City; coeducational; chartered 1831, opened 1832 as the Univ. of the City of New York, renamed 1896. It comprises 13 schools and colleges, maintaining 4 main centers (including the Medical Center) in the city, as well as the  in 1975. Professor Christopher L. Salter is currently Professor and Chair, and Director, Geographic Resources Center, Department of Geography, University of Missouri-Columbia. Professor Salter has authored or edited more than 20 books, including Houghton Mifflin's "Social Studies for the 21st Century," a series of K-8th grade textbooks, currently the educational standard in public schools in 28 states and widely used in private schools, including many abroad.

Professor Salter received his Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley The University of California, Berkeley is a public research university located in Berkeley, California, United States. Commonly referred to as UC Berkeley, Berkeley and Cal  in 1970. He received his M.A. from University of California, Berkeley in 1967, and a B.A. in Geography and Geology in 1961 from Oberlin College.
