Vassa (from Pāli vasso, Sanskrit varṣaḥ, both "rain", Thai: พรรษา,
 (Rain retreat) July 11-Oct.8,2006 according to according to

 the Theravada tradition. During this period, monastics are supposed to stay in one residence throughout the three-month period. This allow them to be more focus and undergo intense training both in the mental training and learning the Buddha dhamma.

We encourage everyone to make a determination for self improvement during this time of the year. May be if we start from something small then we will be strengthened that we could accomplish it.

 I encourage my students to practice self examination and evaluation on a daily basis.
