In the April edition of Parks & Recreation magazine, NRPA NRPA National Recreation and Park Association
NRPA Natural Resources Protective Association (Staten Island, NY)
NRPA Niagara Regional Police Association (Canada)
NRPA National Rifle and Pistol Association
 published an article based on a wire news report about the transference TRANSFERENCE, Scotch law. The name of an action by which a suit, which was pending at the time the parties died, is transferred from the deceased to his representatives, in the same condition in which it stood formerly.  of a local park and recreation authority's finance department to the county. As part of this transference, we reported that the county was reviewing the accounting practices used by the park and recreation authority's executive director.

The intent of this story was to cite an example of the increasing scrutiny park and recreation departments are experiencing in the face of an increasingly challenging financial environment. We hoped that members would benefit from being aware of this trend.

 accurate, it failed to explicitly provide this context and as such, was viewed by some of our readers as an attack on the park and recreation authority's executive director, who happens to be one of our most respected members.
