As part of this transference, we reported that the county was reviewing the accounting practices used by the park and recreation authority's executive director. The intent of this story was to cite an example of the increasing scrutiny park and recreation departments are experiencing in the face of an increasingly challenging financial environment. We hoped that members would benefit from being aware of this trend. Though the article was factually fac·tu·al adj. 1. Of the nature of fact; real. 2. Of or containing facts. fac accurate, it failed to explicitly provide this context and as such, was viewed by some of our readers as an attack on the park and recreation authority's executive director, who happens to be one of our most respected members.
