Edifecs Contributes SpecBuilder Software to ANSI Accredited Standards Committee X12 Standards Development.

FALLS CHURCH, Va. & BELLEVUE, Wash. -- The Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 and Edifecs, Inc. are pleased to announce a renewal of the agreement that gives X12 members access to Edifecs SpecBuilder (TM) for use in X12 standards development. Edifecs SpecBuilder 6.1 is a guideline authoring tool, which provides the ability to create, customize, and publish guidelines, generate test data, compare and migrate different versions of guidelines, and facilitates a rich QA environment for data testing.

As CICA message development proliferates in ASC X12, ASC X12 has revamped and enhanced its Tools for Members program and called for technology provider contributions to help accelerate and harmonize the development of CICA components across the Committee.

"We are so pleased to have Edifecs join the newly invigorated X12 Tools for Members Program," said ASC X12 Chair Ralph Berwanger. "The Edifecs product will help X12ers ease interoperability issues from a cross-section of industries and business processes."

Edifecs SpecBuilder includes support for a rich set of EDI standards including X12 and UN/EDIFACT, healthcare EDI standards such as HIPAA, HL7, and NCPDP, flat file formats, and XML based formats like XML Schema (XSD).
