Edgell Communications acquires "Mobile Enterprise" magazine.


Edgell Communications Inc. (Randolph, NJ), a business-to-business media company, has acquired "Mobile Enterprise" magazine (formerly "Field Force Automation") and accompanying assets, including a web site, "Mobilizer," a bi-monthly e-newsletter, "Mobile Enterprise Outlook," a quarterly research report, and Mobile Enterprise Custom Publishing, from Leisure Publications Inc. (Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. , CA). No terms of the deal were given. Edgell was represented in the deal by The Jordan, Edmiston Group (New York New York, state, United States

The acquired title is produced monthly with a controlled circulation of 50,000 marketing executives and decision-makers responsible for selecting and purchasing mobile and wireless solutions and implementing them into the business processes of their enterprise. It is also distributed at 48 industry trade shows. The mission of the magazine and its related properties is to bring together companies that provide mobile technology solutions with the targeted executives and supply information on the latest mobile technology and how to incoporate that technology into the business process. The "Mobilizer" e-letter has a rate base of 32,000 opt-in subscribers while the web site has 16,000 unique visitors A count of how many different people access a Web site. For example, if a user leaves and comes back to the site five times during the measurement period, that person is counted as one unique visitor, but would count as five "user sessions.  each month.

Edgell said the deal further enhances its position in the IT space across high-growth vertical markets, including retail, hospitality, healthcare and government, and complements its portfolio of magazines, executive conferences, custom publishing, new media, Web events, and proprietary research.
