Edge received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn Univ., and joined ACIPCO in 1963. During his tenure there, Edge has held the positions of research engineer, control metallurgist, steel pipe engineer, assistant melting superintendent, assistant works manager and director of human resources. A U.S. army veteran, Edge is a member of the board of directors for the State of Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame.

A member of MS since 1972, Edge served as MS vice president in 2002-03, 2nd vice president in 2001-02 and MS director, class of 1999.
