Ed Yourdon, IT Industry Visionary, Joins Mintaka Technology Group's Board of Advisors.

Mintaka Technology Group, a progressive software development company engaged in creating a new breed of PC-based software development and maintenance tools, today announced that IT visionary, author, consultant and lecturer Edward Yourdon has agreed to join the company's Advisory Board.

Yourdon is the latest addition to a growing group of technology and business leaders enthusiastic about Mintaka's current business opportunities and exciting future plans.

Yourdon is an international computer consultant and author with more than 37 years of experience in the computer industry. During his career, Yourdon has worked on more than 25 different mainframe computers and has been involved in a number of pioneering technologies, including early time-sharing operating systems and virtual memory systems. He embarked on his career in 1964, when he joined Digital Equipment Corp. to write the FORTRAN math library for DEC's popular PDP-5/8 minicomputer. After stints with DEC, GE and a small consultancy, he worked as an independent consultant and founded his own consulting firm, YOURDON Inc., which is now a part of IBM.

Yourdon has authored more than 450 articles and 25 books, including "Death March," "Rise and Resurrection of the American Programmer" and "Decline and Fall of the American Programmer." He was a member of the expert advisory panel on the I-CASE acquisition for the U.S. Department of Defense, sits on a number of boards and has lectured at MIT, Harvard, UCLA, Berkeley, and other universities around the world, and has delivered keynote addresses at several major computer conferences.

Yourdon received a bachelor of science degree in applied mathematics from MIT, and conducted graduate work at MIT and the Polytechnic Institute of New York. He is currently chairman of the Cutter Consortium, a leading provider of high-level advisory and publication services, and on-site assessments to help organizations forge solutions to the IT challenges they face.

Yourdon joins Charles D. Peebler Jr., chairman emeritus of Truenorth Communications, and Sarah Gerdes, CEO of Business Marketing Group, as members of Mintaka's advisory board.
