The seminar, titled "Real Estate: Challenges & Opportunities," was given by the renowned economist Dr. Irwin Kellner. Dr. Kellner holds the chair of economics title at Hofstra University Hofstra University (hŏf`strə, hôf`–), at Hempstead, N.Y.; coeducational. Founded as a division of New York Univ. in 1935, it became independent in 1940, and its name was changed to Hofstra College. and serves as chief economist The Chief Economist is a single position job class having primary responsibility for the development, coordination, and production of economic and financial analysis. Over 40 people arrived at The Village Club, in Sands Point to learn about interest rates and their possible effect on the housing market. Dr. Kellner explained that the market should remain strong throughout 2005. The idea for this seminar was the brainchild of four top Laffey associates: Edith E. Katz, Barbara Neuman, Diane Fraiman and Janet Vogt. |
