Economic outlook.


Economic Outlook: Southern California's economy will grow modestly in the next three to six months, thanks to an expected boost from housing construction. Cal State Fullerton said its Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  index of leading economic indicators index of leading economic indicators

An index that is compiled by the Conference Board, a private-sector consulting firm. The index is designed to indicate the future direction of economic activity.
 rose 0.3 percent in the second quarter compared with the previous-three months. Four of the indicator's seven components were positive, led by a "relatively large" increase in regional building permits, the report said. Also positive were the interest rate spread, regional unemployment and nonfarm employment.
