Economic Development Leaders Share Insight on Cleveland's Future.


CLEVELAND -- See how communication can play a huge role in boosting the region as some of the area's top professionals discuss "Communicating the Vision - Selling Northeast Ohio." IABC IABC International Association of Business Communicators

 Cleveland is sponsoring the luncheon and panel discussion, which takes place Jan. 11 at the Forum Conference Center in One Cleveland Center One Cleveland Center is the fifth largest skyscraper located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, following Erieview Tower. The building has 31 stories, rises to a height of 450 ft (137 m), and is located at 1375 East 9th Street. It has about 614,000 square feet of office space.  at 1375 E. 9th St.

Doors open 11:30 a.m., with lunch and the program following at noon. The cost of the luncheon program is $27 for IABC members, $30 for non-members and $22 for students. Registration is required by Jan. 8, and available at iabccleveland.com.

This event will be a lively discussion of regional promotional efforts, and how communicators are shaping the vision of our Northeast Ohio's future. More than gaining unique insight into the marketing strategies of various organizations, attendees will learn how communications can spur crucial involvement from the business community.

The panelists represent a broad spectrum of opinions and ideas, coming from both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. They include:

* Rick Batyko is the vice president for regional marketing at the Greater Cleveland Greater Cleveland is a nickname for the metropolitan area surrounding Cleveland in Ohio.

Northeast Ohio refers to a similar but substantially larger area as described below.
 Marketing Alliance, and an IABC Cleveland member. His organization was formed to drive long-term success in marketing the region across the county.

* Chris Mather is the vice president of Technology and Entrepreneurship at NorTech. Privately funded, NorTech focuses on bolstering Northeast Ohio's technology environment to drive economic growth.
