Economic Development Alliance of Jefferson County.
Some 1,500 acres at the Pine Bluff Arsenal have been transferred,
at no cost, from the Army to the Economic Development Alliance of
Jefferson County for the development of a life sciences-oriented
industrial park. The alliance hopes to bring pharmaceutical and other
high-tech companies into the bioplex; however, no habitable buildings
can be constructed before the Army completes the destruction of its old
chemical weapons.
