Ecommercesoft Scores Another Fortune 500 Account With Ascend Communications.


AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 1999--Ecommercesoft, a leading-edge e-commerce company, has been commissioned to create a new e-commerce site for Ascend Communications (Nasdaq:ASND ASND A Streetcar Named Desire (play) ) to be utilized as the internal and external online store for documentation distribution and sales.

The new e-commerce solution encompasses a corporate home page, products database, secured online ordering, order fulfillment Order fulfillment (in BE also: order fulfilment) is in the most general sense the complete process from point of sales inquiry to delivery of a product to the customer. Sometimes Order fulfillment  via multiple shipping points and interconnectivity to accounting processes and existing Web pages.

The Ascend online store is part of the new Galaxy-class enterprise level solution offered by Ecommercesoft. GalaxyCommerce is a multi-level turnkey solution designed for corporations with multiple divisions and departments. Designed to mirror existing infrastructure within these corporations, migration to an Internet-based operation model can be achieved with maximum efficiency, reduced costs and minimum risk.

Utilizing SohoStore from Ecommercesoft as the basic elements within the system, a special version is created for each department within the corporation. SohoStore Elemental is designed to handle both internal & external sales, information transfer, and can operate as a standalone e-commerce site or connected together to form WebClusters. Finally, the WebClusters are linked into the main corporate site, which also interfaces with legacy systems or databases to form a complete GalaxyCommerce solution.
