Ecology Pure Air International, Inc. announces environmental technological agreement with Malaysian firm.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 3, 1996--The Malaysia Canada Development Corp. Sdn Bhd SDN BHD Sendirian Berhad (Malay equivalent to incorporated)  (MCDC MCDC Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (US civilian border patrol)

Under the sales agreement recently signed by the two, Ecology Pure Air International (EPAI) will supply the fuel-saving, anti-pollution device in a single shipment to arrive in Kuala Lumpur Kuala Lumpur (kwä`lə lm`pr), city (1990 est. pop.  by January 1997. The Thundercat Fuel Charger, formerly known as the Combustion Efficiency Management Catalyst, has been shown to significantly reduce hydrocarbon, nitrogen oxide Noun 1. nitrogen oxide - any of several oxides of nitrogen formed by the action of nitric acid on oxidizable materials; present in car exhausts
pollutant - waste matter that contaminates the water or air or soil
and carbon monoxide carbon monoxide, chemical compound, CO, a colorless, odorless, tasteless, extremely poisonous gas that is less dense than air under ordinary conditions. It is very slightly soluble in water and burns in air with a characteristic blue flame, producing carbon dioxide;  emissions -- the primary causes of smog and acid rain. It is designed to treat fuel before it enters the combustion chamber Combustion chamber

The sales agreement between Ecology Pure Air International and Malaysia Canada Development follows the completion in June of rigorous tests of the Thundercat Fuel Charger by Malaysia's Petronas Research & Scientific Services Sdn Bhd., under close supervision by internationally recognized Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM). EPAI's technical staff was led by co-founder, president and COO John D'Alessandro. With some 4 million motor vehicles on the country's roads, Malaysia -- like virtually every other Pacific Rim nation -- is struggling to come to grips with serious air pollution problems.

In the "cold start" tests involving different models of Proton Wira automobiles, carbon monoxide emissions were reduced up to 22 percent, total hydrocarbons decreasing by 4 percent, and nitrogen oxide by 4 percent. Results from "hot start" tests were more dramatic, with carbon monoxides emissions dropping by 54 percent, total hydrocarbons decreasing by 34 percent, and nitrogen oxide emissions by 22 percent.

Pangia said Thundercat Fuel Charger sales of $10 million in 1997 "...is not out of the question. Not only will our product begin to address Malaysia's air pollution problem stemming from motor vehicle emissions, but it will result in significant fuel savings for cars equipped with the device. For Ecology Pure Air International, this agreement represents the launch of the company's business strategy in the Pacific Rim. We think we will be ideally positioned to capture a large share of the market in rapidly developing countries throughout the region."
