Shannon, Vice Chairman and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of St. Paul-headquartered Ecolab Inc., has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) in 1994-95. NAM, the nation's largest industrial trade association, has 12,500 member companies and subsidiaries that account for approximately 85 percent of U.S. manufacturing employment. Shannon joined Ecolab in April 1984 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He was elected to Ecolab's Board of Directors in May 1991, and in August 1992, he accepted his current position, Vice Chairman and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. In addition to serving on the NAM Board of Directors, Shannon also serves on boards for Minnesota Public Radio/St. Paul and the Minnesota Orchestral Association/Minneapolis. He is a member of the Financial Executives Institute and a former director of the Twin Cities and Northeast Ohio Chapters.
