Eberhart receives military space award. (NDIA News).


Air Force Gen. Ralph Eberhart General Ralph Edward "Ed" Eberhart was Commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.

General Eberhart entered the Air Force in 1968 as a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy.

Hartinger was a United States Air Force four star general who served as Commander in Chief, North American Air Defense Command (CINCNORAD) from 1980 to 1981; Commander in Chief, North American Aerospace Defense Command (CINCNORAD) from 1981 to 1982; North American  Award during the National Defense Industrial Association Rocky Mountain Chapter's Salute to Space Ball.

Hartinger was the first commander of the Air Force Space Command. The award named for him is presented annually, to recognize outstanding and enduring individual accomplishments towards the advancement of military space initiatives.

"Gen. Eberhart was selected for this prestigious award for his sustained leadership, vision and influence on national space policy, people and programs that have inspired NORAD/USSPACECOM and AFSPACECOM AFSPACECOM Air Force Space Command  to new levels of performance and achievement," said Larry Hungerford, NDIA's Rocky Mountain Chapter president.

Eberhart "will also be cited for his tireless efforts to integrate and expand the understanding of space contributions with national leaders, as well as fostering relationships internationally to enhance U.S. security and world stability," said Hungerford.
