Under the new policy, each Fund may invest up to 15% of its net assets in foreign loans in an Authorized Foreign Currency and may invest without limit in foreign loans denominated in U.S. dollars. For all foreign investments denominated in an Authorized Foreign Currency, Eaton Vance Management, the Funds' investment manager, currently intends to seek to hedge against foreign currency fluctuations through the use of currency exchange contracts and other appropriate permitted hedging strategies. Each Fund will invest at least 80% of its total assets in interests in Senior Loans that are denominated in either U.S. dollars or an Authorized Foreign Currency. The foregoing policy changes provide a number of important benefits to the Funds. Allowing the Funds to invest in foreign investments denominated in an Authorized Foreign Currency or in U.S. dollars increases each Fund's investment universe, opens up new investment markets with similar risk/return characteristics, and allows for greater overall portfolio diversity. Each Fund is managed by Eaton Vance Management, a subsidiary of Eaton Vance Corp., which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) World's largest marketplace for securities.
