Eaton Selected by Hamilton Sundstrand to Supply Environmental Control System Ducting for Use on New Boeing 787 Aircraft.

CLEVELAND -- Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) has been selected by Hamilton Sundstrand Air Management Systems to design, develop and supply ducting and associated hardware for use on both the nitrogen generating system and the cabin air conditioning and thermal control system for the new Boeing 787 aircraft. The aerospace contract is estimated to generate revenues of $82 million over the life of the program.

Eaton's selection was based on a variety of factors, including the ability to provide innovative engineering solutions to meet weight and performance requirements. Eaton's expertise in v-band couplings, clamps, flanges, hoses, and lightweight ducting supports Hamilton Sundstrand's system architecture. This new system employs an electrical approach to providing pressurized cabin air and air conditioning, resulting in improved efficiency and reliability.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner will carry 223 to 259 passengers in tri-class configurations on routes up to 8,500 nautical miles (15,700 kilometers). Production will begin in 2006. The first flight is expected in 2007, with certification, delivery and entry into service occurring in 2008.
