EasyLink's VAN and Fax-to-EDI solution simplifies EDI operations for Ratner Companies and its suppliers

NORCROSS, Ga. -- EasyLink Services International Corporation ("EasyLink" or "Company") (NasdaqCM: ESIC), a global provider of comprehensive messaging services and e-commerce solutions, today announced Ratner Companies, a leading U.S. hair salon chain, has implemented EasyLink's Fax-to-EDI solution using EasyLink's EDI Value Added Network (VAN).

Ratner began shopping for an EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) service provider after adopting a new ERP system that produces order files in a proprietary format. Ratner's suppliers need to receive these orders in a variety of ways; the larger companies require orders to be sent via an EDI VAN while smaller suppliers need to receive orders via fax or email. The breadth of EasyLink's solution set allowed Ratner to meet the diverse needs of their suppliers. EasyLink's solutions convert Ratner's outbound proprietary formatted files to fax or email for submission to their small suppliers and to EDI for the larger, EDI capable suppliers. Conversely, EasyLink receives EDI files from the larger suppliers and converts them to Ratner's proprietary formats for import into their ERP system.
