Eastman Software Strengthens Executive Team with Appointment of Industry Leaders; Gerry Sutton Departs Company to Return to Australia.

Eastman Software, an Eastman Kodak Company business, has strengthened its executive team with the addition of three industry leaders who are charged with further moving the company toward a leadership position in e-commerce and knowledge management software development initiatives.

Dom LaCava has been named president; David Lakness, chief technology officer; and Linda Myers-Tierney, has been appointed chief marketing officer.

The appointments come along with the departure of Gerry Sutton, former president of Eastman software who announced that he is returning to Australia.

LaCava will report directly to Candy Obourn, senior vice president of Eastman Kodak Company and president of its Document Imaging division. Lakness and Myers-Tierney will report to LaCava.

Dom LaCava, President, Eastman Software

LaCava's career represents more than three decades of innovative leadership in the computer industry. He is currently on the board of directors of Internet start-ups, PlaceWare and Acunet.net. Prior to his Internet experience, he was president and chief operating officer of PictureTel, where he led the company's successful entry into desktop video conferencing. LaCava also served as president and chief executive officer of PowerOpen Association, an independent corporation founded by industry leaders including Apple Computer, IBM, Motorola, Bull and Thompson-CSF, to promote a new platform based on the PowerPC(R). LaCava's career also includes executive management positions at International Business Machines (IBM) and Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC). As vice president of DEC's low-end business, he was responsible for the desktop and deskside computer systems business, yielding revenues of more than $4 billion.

David Lakness, Chief Technology Officer, Eastman Software

David Lakness, whose appointment the company announced earlier this month, is an expert in developing product concepts and implementing strategic development partnerships. He has a solid track record of delivering innovative products to market for such companies as Keyfile Corporation, Imagery Software Inc., and Wang Laboratories.

Linda Myers-Tierney, Chief Marketing Officer, Eastman Software

Linda Myers-Tierney will drive the business and marketing strategy for the company. Myers-Tierney is a recognized industry analyst and consultant, through her consulting company, Myers-Tierney & Associates. She has been published extensively on the subjects of e-commerce, knowledge management, electronic document management and collaborative computing.
