Eastman Software Strengthens Executive Team with Appointment of Industry Leaders; Gerry Sutton Departs Company to Return to Australia.


BILLERICA, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 23, 1999--

Eastman Software, an Eastman Kodak Company business, has strengthened its executive team with the addition of three industry leaders who are charged with further moving the company toward a leadership position in e-commerce and knowledge management software development initiatives.

Dom LaCava has been named president; David Lakness, chief technology officer; and Linda Myers-Tierney, has been appointed chief marketing officer.

The appointments come along with the departure of Gerry Sutton, former president of Eastman software who announced that he is returning to Australia.

"Gerry's leadership during our reorganization set in place a foundation from which we firmly believe we can build a significant market leadership position, " said Eastman Software Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

LaCava will report directly to Candy Obourn, senior vice president of Eastman Kodak Company and president of its Document Imaging division. Lakness and Myers-Tierney will report to LaCava.

Carl Frappaolo, industry analyst with the Delphi Group, said the announcement signals a new direction for Eastman Software, one that puts a greater emphasis on marketing and product positioning. LaCava's career represents more than three decades of innovative leadership in the computer industry. He is currently on the board of directors of Internet start-ups, PlaceWare and Acunet.net.
