Eastman Chemical

Eastman Chemical, a division of Eastman Kodak, has agreed to purchase the propylene glycol business located at South Charleston, WV, and to license polymer polyols technology, both of which Arco Chemical recently acquired from Union Carbide Chemicals and Plastics. Eastman also agreed to purchase the polyols toll and related assets, located at Conroe, TX, which Arco Chemical acquired from Texaco in 1987. The purchases are subject to review and final approval by the FTC and the management of each company. The propylene glycol business, which has been operating independently under a hold separate agreement with the Federal Trade Commission, will remain subject to the terms and conditions of the agreement.
