Eastern Division.


The Eastern Division is featuring the state of Delaware for this article. Delaware State President Jacqueline Faulcon is sharing this information regarding this small, but dynamic, state's activities.

The Delaware convention was held at the Wilmington Music School October 31-November 1, 2003. Featured artists included the Cab Calloway Senior High Jazz Choir, Delaware State University Delaware State University (DSU), the second-largest university in the state of Delaware, is a historically black university. Over the last 116 years, it has evolved into a fully accredited, comprehensive university with a main campus located in Dover, Delaware and two satellite  Choir and the University Singers from Temple University's Esther Boyer College of Music.

A workshop clinic, "The Art of Accompanying," was facilitated by Benjamin Whitten, NCTM, with the assistance of Lotus Cheng Brown, Richard Gangwisch, Ovidiu Marinescu, Mable Morrison, NCTM, and Dawn Stevens. A four-hand piano performance was given by David Brown and Lotus Cheng Brown.

Delaware is proud its founder, Mildred M. Gaddis, NCTM, is being honored as an MTNA FOUNDATION Fellow at the 2004 MTNA National Conference in Kansas City, Missouri Kansas City is the largest city in the state of Missouri. It encompasses parts of Jackson, Clay, Cass, and Platte counties and is the anchor city of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area, the second largest in Missouri, which includes counties in both Missouri and Kansas. .

Eastern Division members will meet at the National Conference Sunday, March 28, 5:00-6:00 P.M. in the Muehlebach Trianon E room at the Marriott Downtown Hotel.
